The Charity
We are a non-profit charity operating in England & Wales
(UK) established in the year 2000. The Charity's main
objective is to help provide FREE education to the poorer
regions of Pakistan.
We have set up a Primary School in Bhalwal, district
Sarghodha, Pakistan. Here we provide free education to young
children and allow them to try and get a great start in
life. The Charity began it's mission in 2000 by acquiring a
building that was for rent to provide educational
facilities. Later in 2001, with the help of many donations,
we were able to finally purchase a building with 4 Kanal
(2023 sq.m) area which constituted to about 14 rooms.
The building was old and required refurbishment to
deem it fit for purpose. So in 2004 the Trust decided to
demolish the building and construct a purpose built school.
With help from the many donations from both the UK and
Pakistan we have now completed the ground floor and the
school is operational. Future plans are to build a first and
second floor to truly complete the project.
The school also houses a computer lab which holds 45
computers in total. Here basic computer skills as well as
Information Communication Technology is thought to the
children.
The Al-Ukhuwwat Trust has also set up a "Baitul Maal"
which helps the poor families in the area by providing them
"Wazeefas" (monthly financial help). From "Zakat" and "Sadaqat"
(Charity donations) widows, orphans and disabled/handicapped
people can receive financial aid.
The Trust has also purchased a further 3 Kanal (1517 sq.m)
where a beautiful "Jamia Masijid" (Mosque), Al-Ukhuwwat, has
been built. The Mosque is a two story complex where five
time prayers and "Jumah" prayer takes place. The Mosque can
benefit not only the children but the local people of the
area.
The Trust has also set up an Islamic Institute; "Darul-Uloom,
Al-Ukhuwwat" where Islamic Education is available. This
includes Hifz-UL-Quran, Tajweed, Tafseer-UL-Quran and other
uloomil-islamia. The facility is completely free for the
students and local people. The Darul-Uloom provides FREE
boarding, food, medicines and other necessities for its
students. |
